Phi Beta Sigma Race Against Violence 5K and 1 Mile Walk

The men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. will host the Third Annual Phi Beta Sigma 5k Run and 1 mile Family Walk Against Violence. This event is held to raise awareness and support the efforts of our community to stop the violence - both street violence and domestic violence. The event is on June 29th 2013. Start time for the event is 8:00 a.m. This is a family event, youth and kids are welcome.

Run route

The 5k route will begin at the Adams Park Community Center parking lot, will go out and back on paved trail and will end after going past and around the Adams Park Community Center. Walk route

The walking route will be begin at the Adams Park Community Center and will start approximately 5 minutes after the 5K. http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/233416457 The race and walk will begin and end from Adams Park, 3230 John A Creighton Blvd, Omaha, NE 68111. Proceeds from this event are donated to Generation Hope. The run is an out and back that begins at Adams Park on the Omaha Trail going North and then turns west toward Fontenelle Park. The race will finish inside the park just off the trail. This is a 100% trail run. The trail parallels streets. The walk begins and ends at the same start and finish in Adams Park on Omaha Trail and goes North to Pratt and back. The walk will begin a few minutes after the run. Registrations received prior to midnight Friday, June 21, 2013 will be guaranteed a shirt. Registration closes at 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013.
