The Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated invite you to join us as we rally around our students, families, and our community to raise the awareness of bullying. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity are working with several organizations within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to implement educational outreach initiatives that raise awareness about issues affecting families such as mental health, including bullying. According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and nationwide 160,000 children stay home from school each day to avoid being bullied-and the effects can be life-long, even tragic. Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University.

This event will be held at the Trinity Park Policeman & Fireman’s Memorial Pavilion. The 5K Walk/Run winds through Trinity Park. The 5K is a USATF certified course. 5K will be chip timed by Chip-2-Chip Race Timing.

Proceeds will benefit scholarships and a donation awarded to Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County
